At-home veterinary care is not right for every pet or right for every pet at all times. Dr Chesney will contact you to discuss your pet and your current care needs before confirming an at-home exam. Dr Chesney is also happy to work with your "brick and mortar" primary veterinarian or specialists for complete care coverage. If urgent care is needed or a procedure/surgery, Dr Chesney will direct you to the proper ER or urgent care.
Comfort Veterinary is currently accepting limited new clients. Please reach out to Dr Chesney directly about availability and your pet's specific needs using the Contact Us form below.
Yes! We have online appointment requests through our pet portal for current clients. Please note this is a request not a confirmation- please wait for a response to find the best day and time.
Not necessarily! While the "office visit" might be more than you are used to paying, the pricing for vaccines and blood tests are quite competitive. You will receive a full estimate of all expected services before your first visit so you can make the right decision for your pet. There is a non-refundable $200 deposit for first time patients which will be applied to your first invoice.
Dr Chesney highly recommends and accepts all pet insurance.
Most likely yes to keep everyone safe and comfortable. Often a muzzle is needed to complete an exam safely. Dr Chesney recommends training your pet to a basket muzzle, so it is worn prior to arrival. You can feed treats through the basket muzzle to keep the experience as positive as possible.
Many pets will not need to continue with sedatives (especially if they are muzzled) but some do better with them. Please speak directly to Dr Chesney before your first visit.
For cats and small to medium dogs, it is very helpful if the owner purchases a small at-home scale. Dr Chesney may ask you to weigh your pet weekly or monthly if he or she is dealing with chronic illness or monitoring weight gain or loss.
Yes! Telehealth is included with any patient who has had an in-person house call visit within the past 6 months. There are dedicated Telehealth appointments as well as daily times Dr Chesney is available via text to answer any questions, get updates or see your newest adorable pet photo! Telehealth is not available for pets who are not currently patients of Dr Chesney's.
Request a Telehealth the same way you request an in-person visit, using our pet portal:
